One cask of spent fuel from the Swiss nuclear power plant of Gösgen arrived at the Valognes railway terminal serving the AREVA NC La Hague plant on June 15th, 2006, at 9 :23 am.
The fuel elements will be stored at the AREVA NC La Hague pools for cooling, then reprocessed to recover valuable materials and condition the final waste for return to Switzerland for disposal.
