Spent fuel coming from Switzerland to France

According to the contract signed between Swiss utilities and COGEMA, and following intergovernmental agreements between France and Switzerland, part of the spent fuel from Swiss nuclear power plants is sent to France for reprocessing.
In accordance with these commitments, a road transport of one cask containing spent fuel from the Swiss nuclear power plant of Mühleberg is under preparation. Taking into account the operational measures to implement, the shipment could reach the COGEMA site of La Hague from October, 14th.
This operation strictly conforms to national and international regulations.
