Spent Fuel Coming from Switzerland to France

According to the contract signed between Swiss utilities and COGEMA, and following intergovernmental agreements between France and Switzerland, part of the spent fuel from Swiss nuclear power plants is sent to France for reprocessing.
In accordance with these commitments, a shipment of one cask containing spent fuel has left the Swiss nuclear power plant of Gösgen on March 23rd, 2005. It should reach the COGEMA Logistics rail terminal located in Valognes from March 25th.
This operation strictly conforms to national and international regulations.
