Spent fuel coming from Switzerland arriving in France

According to the contract signed between Swiss utilities and COGEMA, and following intergovernmental agreements between France and Switzerland, part of the spent fuel from Swiss nuclear power plants is sent to France for reprocessing.

In accordance with these commitments, today, a shipment of a cask containing spent fuel has just left Gosgen nuclear power plant. The shipment will reach the COGEMA Logistics rail terminal located in Valognes on May 7 th.

This operation strictly conforms to national and international regulations.
