Second shipment of MOX fuel to Japan : Announcement of the maritime route

MOX fuel from Europe to Japan would be communicated one day after the actual departure date from Europe. The "Pacific Pintail" and "Pacific Teal" departed Europe together on January 19th 2001 at 6.00pm GMT. They are now en route to Japan via the Cape of Good Hope.
Approximate timing of arrival in Japan is scheduled around the latter half of March. For the MOX shipments, two armed PNTL (Pacific Nuclear Transport Limited) vessels departed from Europe together and are escorting each other. This statement is being released simultaneously in UK, France and Japan by BNFL, COGEMA and TEPCO respectively.
