Departure of the fourth shipment of vitrified waste to Belgium

The fourth shipment of vitrified waste from France to Belgium, announced by Belgium's National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management (ONDRAF) and COGEMA on 22 February 2002, left the rail terminal at Valognes, France, at 12:51 p.m. today.
It is scheduled to arrive in Belgium on 28 February. The cask and canisters in this shipment have undergone all regulatory and contractual inspections required for them to leave the COGEMA La Hague plant.
