Spent fuel coming from Germany arriving at the Valognes railway terminal

Three casks of spent fuel from German nuclear power plants are arrived at the COGEMA railway terminal in Valognes on june 18th 12:58am.

All of the fuel will be placed in spent fuel storage pools at La Hague for a period of cooling. They will then be reprocessed to separate recyclable materials and condition the final waste, both of which will be returned to Germany for storage and disposal.
